Why?#
Part I.#
In short, because it was getting expensive.
8GB RAM didn’t seem to be enough for GitLab, with pages and registry turned on.
I did upgrade to a 16GB RAM machine on Hetzner Cloud, wwhich went flawlessly (just like at other cloud providers).
Well, for the most part…
It does warn you that Rescaling is only possible to server types of the same architecture. Therefore, there is no option to change the architecture type.,
but it didn’t even let me change from an AMD machine to an Intel one.
I get why X86_64 to ARM and back doesn’t work, but I expected at least ADM –> Intel to work.
But it didn’t…
Or there was a shortage of the size of VM I wanted to rescale to on the Intel side, but the GUI didn’t show it properly.
If that’s the case it’s fine, but said VM size still should’ve been greyed out as unavailable, unable to select in the list.
